it can provide diversified value with a variety of habitat for wildlife, numerous recreational opportunities, scenic landscapes, clean air, stable soil, high quality water, wood products and healthy trees for future generations to enjoy.

Planning Guide
  • Think about why you own your woodland.
  • Conduct a personal assessment of your woodland.
  • Seek the advice of a forester
  • Work with the forester to develop management objectives.
  • Review options and decide on specific management steps.
  • Ask a forester to prepare a forest management plan.
  • Implement the plan.
  • When the time comes to harvest, carefully choose your logger.
