“I am honored to have the
opportunity to serve on the board of the ESFPA. The organization has been
a tremendous advocate for forest landowners and forest products producers and
users for nearly a full century. They continue to champion issues that are
critical to New York State’s forest health as well as the economic base of a
forest products industry that has been among the States most reliable employers.
I can only hope to equal the efforts made by my predecessors in that endeavor.”
As a new board member, I would
like to see increased enrollment as a priority for 2005. This can only
enhance our position in Albany, which is a goal for all those in the forest
products industry. In addition, we need to cultivate our exposure to the
point that we can become more visible to the general public. Too often the
public hears negative commentary on our industry. With programs like New
York Logger Training and various certification efforts, we have an awesome story
to tell. Let’s tell it.
